ERROR ajakirjanikele

silver | Uncategorized | Monday, July 31st, 2006

On tore lugeda Eesti venekeelsest meediast, kui tore riik see Valgevene on. Kui ei usu, siis siin üks Molodesh Estoni artiklike. Huvitav, kuidas ajakirjanik Semenova Valgevenesse akrediteerimise sai. Valgevene välisministeeriumi kodulehel on kenasti üleval dokumendid ajakirjanike akrediteerimiseks, aga kui klikkida linki „List of Foreign Mass Media That Have Accredited Their Journalists in the Republic of Belarus”, saab vastuseks ühemõttelise teate:

ERROR Sorry! The requested page does not exist.

Tere tulemast demokraatlikusse Valgevenesse!

(PS: Ehk siis lühiteade. Puhkus läbi ning blog taas avatud) (PS: Nüüd on hakanud ka minu vend blogima. Oliveri blog kajastab tema vürtsikaid seiklusi, mitmekesist elu ja tasemel õpinguid Soomes Turu ülikoolis. Lõbus tekst on rikastatud fotodega)

BRUSSEL: Parlamendiliikmete suremus

silver | Uncategorized | Thursday, July 13th, 2006

Millega tegelevad MEP-id suvel? Enamik puhkab, aga mitte kõik. Nimelt saatis küpruse MEP Marios Matsakis (muuseas PhD) täna EP emailidele huvitava uuringu: “Mortality Rate in National Parliaments Survey”. Mõeldes hiljutise kurva sündmuse peale Riigikogus, mõjus see uuring veidi kummastavalt. (Kõigepealt vaata: tabelit) Mortality Rate in National Parliaments Survey Results Concerned about figure death of 3 MEPs in the past 2 years, I carried out a simple survey to see how that compares to the Mortality Rate in National Parliaments of EU Member States. A short questionnaire was sent by e-mail to the relevant authorities asking to supply information about the total number of MPs in the National Parliament and the number of MPs deaths in the past 2 years. Answers were received from all EU member states except from the following six: Germany, Italy, Estonia, Portugal, Luxemburg, Ireland. The results are shown in the table below. Although numbers are small and therefore the statistical significance is low, some idea about the general ranking can be seen. Of note is the high figure of the UK in which almost 2 out of every 100 MPs died in the past 2 years. Dr Marios Matsakis M.D. PhD MEP (Cyprus) TABEK)
